>On July 27, 2020 The House passed a bill called the “Commission On The Social Status Of Black Men And Boys Act”. The bill plans to establish a bipartisan commission to study the racial disparities affecting black males.
>The bill was introduced by Representative Fredrica Wilson. The bill won the vote, 368-1. Representative Mo Brooks voted against the measure
>The act would have a panel full of lawmakers, agency officials, and non governmental experts. They would make policy recommendations to fight against “civil rights violations” against black males.
>Criminal justice, employment, health, fatherhood, mentorship, and violence would be some the topics included in the bill.
>The commission would be required to deliver an annual report with a solution to systemic racism.
